Olakunle Akinkunle, PT
Olakunle Akinkunle received his Doctor of Physical Therapy at the New York Institute of Technology, Old Westbury Long Island, New York and has clinical expertise in inpatient, outpatient, acute, and sub-acute care. Olakunle’s extensive experience includes total outpatient physical therapy care with participation in a sports medicine clinic and home care evaluations; instructing patients in the safe, effective use of pulleys, weights, wheelchair, crutches, orthotic and prosthetic devices; planning and administering treatment modalities and therapeutic exercises encompassing muscle re-education, manual technique, and active and passive range of motion; and working closely with other healthcare professionals in developing exercise regimes for patients with post-op orthopedic conditions.
Olakunle has worked in a variety of outpatient, skilled nursing and subacute facilities as a staff physical therapist, providing direct patient care utilizing conservative treatments, neuro re-education and manual techniques to facilitate and enhance productive interventions. He is skilled in the kinesio taping/strapping technique as well as other manual therapy techniques.
He is certified by the International Weight Lifting Association as a Senior Strength Trainer (CSST) and a Weight Trainer (CWT), and is certified in CPR.
